Additive Manufacturing

Additive manufacturing (AM), commonly known as 3D printing, builds three-dimensional objects layer-by-layer from digital designs (CAD models), adding material instead of removing it (like subtractive manufacturing). This process enables complex geometries, rapid prototyping, reduced waste, on-demand production, and customization, using materials from plastics and ceramics to metals and biologicals, impacting industries from aerospace to healthcare.
Prostheses

Prostheses are artificial body parts replacing missing or damaged limbs, joints, or organs, designed to restore function, improve mobility, and enhance appearance after amputation, injury, disease, or congenital conditions, such as from external limbs like running blades that are fitted by specialists called prosthetists. 

What's behind AM-HEAL?

We combined two powerful forces driving the future of medical technology:

🔹 AM (Additive Manufacturing): Cutting-edge 3D printing technologies, materials, and digital workflows.

🔹 HEAL: Personalized rehabilitation, clinical device fitting, and war injury recovery.  

     Most importantly, our official slogan: “Walking life back”, reflects our ultimate goal: helping individuals recover mobility, independence, and quality of life through custom medical solutions.

The project is funded by the KA220-HED – Cooperation partnerships in higher education of Erasmus+

The lead partners are from  South East Technological University, Ireland with other partner universities from Ukraine, Spain and Malta.
